Volunteering
|
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Housing Greensboro to help out
a family in need. We always have a need for volunteers on our project sites to assist
our construction leaders in the home repair. Individual volunteers must be 18 years
or older to work on a project and any knowledge of carpentry, plumbing or electrical
work is a huge help to our organization. Don’t worry if you have no prior construction
experience as our construction staff will teach you the skills you will need for
that work day.
Our work week is Wednesday through Saturday with volunteers especially needed
on Thursdays and Saturdays to work from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Remember to wear sturdy,
closed toed shoes and clothes you can get dirty. Please plan on bringing water to
drink and a lunch to eat.
Housing Greensboro will provide tools to use at the jobsite, but it is especially
helpful when we have larger groups if you can bring your own:
- Work gloves
- Hammer
- Utility knife
- Tape measure
- Pencil
